Today I went to meet up with a friend in town and when I met her she had bought hot chocolates for me and her. I was so distracted by the nice gesture I had completely forgot about my Ripples of Change challenge. It wasn’t until I went to put the cup into the bin I realised I had used a single use coffee cup. It annoyed me because I was doing so well with the challenge initially. Bar from this the challenge has been getting easier where I usually don’t even think about wanting to use plastic. I feel like I could definitely make this a long term habit and even start thinking about other ways I can be less wasteful in my day to day life

cCHANGE Team commented on Day 21: I think I failed my challenge :( 4 years agoHi Dasha, :) Thanks for your post, you haven't failed. Not at all. In fact it sounds like you are doing really well - starting to think about other ways you can stretch in your challenge and create less waste! Fantastic. It's OK to have the occassional slip up. In fact, sometimes we learn more about ourselves through mistakes. Changing your perspective on "mistakes" can help you think of them as learn-win opportunities.Did you learn something about yourself because of this slip up? Maybe it's something around what's really important to you? Have you thought about the systems around your challenge? What systems are operating that mean that disposables are stil so popular when we know how unsustainable they are at the scale we currently use them? Why aren't alternatives more popular? Do you see any promising alternatives that are changing the system? Thanks for the great updates! Best, Leonie at cCHANGE Respond
