I cant believe 15 days have already passed so far! i am proud that I have stuck on track with not eating meat. I am enjoying exploring alternatives and learning new recipes. Looking at recipes other people posted on their blogs have inspired me to go out of my comfort zone. I have decided that after this challenge I will try my best to not consume any meat. I read that eating a vegetarian diet has 2.5 x less carbon emissions than a meat diet. knowing that I am helping the planet in a little way keeps me motivated to continue. I commend people who are vegan but my love for cheese and eggs is too strong! maybe in the future I will slowly move towards a vegan diet. I have converted to oak milk for my coffees and cereal which is a good change.
I Hope everyone is enjoying their challenge 🙂

Darren Clarke commented on Day 15: halfway :) 4 years agoHi Alison. Great to read your posts over the last few days and your successes and some of the challenges you've found (love of eggs and cheese)! I hope you're enjoying the transition to oat milk too and you've realised that vegetarian food can be as tasty or even tastier than meat alternatives. Have you ever wondered why we always assume meat/dairy as the default option when we cook / eat out? Why is this do you think? I'm delighted that you think that this could be a long-term change to reducing or eliminating meat from your diet. It's amazing that after only 18 days, you can see the benefits (environmental and health) from your changed habits. Have you had a chance to reflect on what systems might need to change to support you reduce or eliminate meat from your diet in the long-term? How might you influence these systems to support you and others around you reduce your meat consumption in the long-term? Looking forward to continue reading your posts over the next few weeks.
