As I continue to try and lower my carbon footprint by cycling to and from all my lectures, the motivation to not use public transport is lowering along with my energy levels.

Myself and colleagues from University of Oslo will follow your challenge over the next 30 days and will support you, and hopefully offer you some new perspectives. You have chosen a great challenge. Changing habits in our daily lives can be really challenging, as you are finding with cycling. Try not to be too discouraged by your experiences to-date though. Could you identify what aspect of the challenge is leading to lower motivation? Do you find that you go into autopilot and look for the easiest/quickest option when it comes to getting to college? Have you thought about what might help you to succeed in your challenge? Perhaps having conversations with others or cycling in with others to create a sense of community. Perhaps you could reframe the challenge in terms of the opportunities it provides such as improved health, quicker journey time and cheaper travel that could be used for other aspects of your life.
