So its day 15, meaning were half way trough our 30 day challenge. Honestly i don’t think i have put enough effort into my challenge. Reading everyone’s blog has inspired me to get off couch and try harder. This week i want to visit thrift shops and charity shops to find some nice clothes that 1. Fit me and 2. That i will actually wear. I normally just shop online in the comfort of my bed however with this being a challenge I’m going to get out of my comfort zone and actually go out and scavenge for clothes. Hopefully I’ll have a good experience and don’t quit when i cant find anything and ill try and have an open mind to this new beginning.

Darren Clarke commented on Day 15: Half way to the finish line 4 years agoHi Evelyn. It's great hearing about your shift to more sustainable clothes purchases and how you are even moving from second-hand online clothes retailers to thrift shops in your search for more sustainable clothes. I hope you'll be pleasantly surprised with what you find when you go looking. Do you think your habit of wanting to get new clothes has also changed during this challenge? Have you identified what systems might need to change to ensure fast fashion is consigned to history? Your parents are likely to have interesting stories from their childhood about clothes being recycled between children/cousins/other families when they were growing up. I know we used to do the same when I was growing up - maybe not to the same extent as your parents generation! It might be good to get their input on this too, as this could help support you and make you see things from a different perspective. You really seem to be embracing the concept of more sustainable clothing purchases during your experiment. I'm interested to know if you have you ever stood up for something you believed in in the past? Did anyone join you? Looking forward to continue reading about how you are adapting to a life without fast fashion in the next few weeks! Darren Respond
