After 30 days I can finally say that I have completed my sustainability challenge and walked to and from college everyday! I’m relieved that now on rainy or cold days I have the option to take the bus but I will definitely continue walking on days that aren’t so bad. The walk has both physical and mental benefits as well as reducing my carbon footprint and helping the environment so it’s something I definitely want to continue as it helps both me and the others around me. At the start of the 30 days I didn’t think I could stick to the challenge completely but I’m proud of myself for managing to get there. I learned a lot about myself when it comes to making change and how disciplined I can be when I put my mind to something.

cCHANGE Team commented on Day +1: Day 30: My Sustainability Challenge 4 years agoHi Donal, Thanks for your posts. You did it! It’s been inspirational to follow your journey during Ripples of Change and the insights you have had around yourself and the habits, cultures, and systems that need to shift to move us towards a more sustainable and equitable future. You have had some tough walks, but you made it and you should be very proud of yourself. You stuck with it! It is interesting that you notice some of the other benefits of walking. We often hear that from cCHALLENGE participants. And at the end now, you also see that you have options. Walking is good and you can do it most days, but you will take the bus on the rainy and cold days. This is something else we notice, that participants often feel they have more options at the end of the challenge than when they started. Really glad to hear you learnt a lot about yourself and your determination and perserverance. I am sure you have created a lot of ripple effects through this project. Good luck and keep experimenting! Warm wishes, Leonie at cCHANGE Respond
