I have had an enjoyable last couple of days. I have been sticking to my challenge and have enjoyed some lovely vegan meals. This week I had a conversation with my grandad about my challenge and she was kinda baffled by my challenge she didn’t really understand why I would do such a thing, but it made me think about how culture and places you grow up in can influence your perception on things. I tried to explain it to him but he just said that it doesn’t affect him, now he did say it in a joking manner but I was still baffled by it. Often parents or grandparents can be role models for kids and more often kids opinions can be based of things they have heard. The biggest thing about sustainability in my opinion we need to make people more educated about it but not just the younger generation everybody should be. The problems we face can only be solved if everyone knows how to help we can just wait for the problem to effect us we have to work together.

cCHANGE Team commented on Day 19: Day 18 4 years agoHi Aidan, Thanks for a great update about the conversation with your Grandad. You had some really interesting reflections around culture and "the way things are" and how opinions and attitudes can be handed down through generations. Perhaps kids now are role models for parents and grandparents. :) It's fantastic that you had this conversation with your grandad. Have you had any thoughts about how we could educate the different generations? I wonder if courageous conversations like the one you had with your grandad could be part of that education. Thanks for posting. I look forward to trying the Vegan Eaton Mess! Thanks for posting that. Best, Leonie at cCHANGE Respond
