My challenge
I will eat vegan for one day a week cut back on meat and dairy and water usage
Although the challenge has not been difficult I have noticed that I do tend to go into autopilot. Just the other day I was half way through eating a pizza before I noticed there was pepperoni on it. I thought ah well I’m nearly done might as well finish it which now looking back I regret because even though I made an honest mistake once I realised I should have stuck with my principles. I chose the easy option which I think is a major factor in why we are in the climate mess.
Hi Medbh. Thanks for being so honest about your slip up. This is part of the learning process when we are going through change. I think I've eaten a few things in the past that are non-vegan, even with the best will in the world so don't be hard on yourself. It's great to recognise and learn from it in the first instance. Have you thought about the social, cultural, economic and political systems that might also need to change to support you in being a vegan beyond the 30-day experiment? I'm also interested to know if you have you ever stood up for something you believe in in the past? Did anyone join you? Did you learn anything from that experience? Looking forward to continue reading your blogs over the coming weeks. Darren Respond
